Terms of Service

The plain version: you stay in charge, because nothing is sent until you approve it, and that also means you are responsible for what you approve. Be honest with your readers, only email people who asked to hear from you, and we will do the rest.

1. About these terms

These terms are between you and SayPiece (“we”, “us”). By signing in, requesting an invite, or using SayPiece, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you are using SayPiece for a business, you confirm you can bind that business to these terms.

2. Who can use SayPiece

SayPiece is invite-only. You must be at least 18, and we review each request before an account is opened. We can decline a request, or close an account, at our discretion. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your sign-in secure.

3. What SayPiece does, and what it doesn't

SayPiece suggests topics, turns your voice notes and typed notes into researched drafts, runs checks on them, and, once you approve, sends your newsletter to your list and gives you a LinkedIn post to copy and use yourself.

Drafts and suggestions are produced with the help of artificial intelligence. AI can be wrong. We run checks on sources, figures, names and wording and we flag what we cannot verify, but we do not promise that every statement is accurate, complete or suitable for your audience. SayPiece is not a source of legal, financial, medical, tax or other professional advice, and nothing it produces should be treated as such.

4. You approve everything, and you are responsible for it

Nothing is sent to your readers until you approve it. By approving an issue you confirm that you have read it, that it says what you mean, and that you are content for it to go out in your name. An approved issue is sent once and cannot be recalled from your readers’ inboxes.

You are responsible for the content you approve and publish, including any claims, figures, advice and recommendations it contains, and for any LinkedIn post or other use you make of what we write.

5. Your content

You own the notes, recordings, answers and other material you give us, and you own the newsletters and posts we produce for you from it, as between you and us. You give us permission to store, process and copy that material, and to share it with the providers listed in our Privacy Policy, only so that we can provide the service to you.

You promise that you have the right to give us what you give us, that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break the law, and that anyone whose voice or personal details appear in a recording or note has agreed to it where the law requires that. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

6. Your readers and sending email

When you send a newsletter through SayPiece, you promise that:

  • everyone on your list has asked to hear from you, and you can show how and when they did;
  • you will not buy, rent or scrape lists, or add people who have not agreed;
  • you will follow the laws that apply to email marketing where you and your readers are, such as India’s data protection law, the CAN-SPAM Act and the GDPR;
  • your emails carry a working unsubscribe link and your sender details, and you honour unsubscribes.

We keep an unsubscribe link and your sender details on every email, and we stop sending to people who unsubscribe, bounce or complain. If your list produces many complaints or bounces, we may pause your sending to protect other clients and our sending reputation, and we will tell you why.

7. WhatsApp and other messages

If you give us a WhatsApp number, you agree that we may send you reminders, topic ideas and drafts there, and you can reply to us there with voice notes. Reply STOP at any time to stop reminders. WhatsApp and Meta’s own terms and policies apply to messages sent through WhatsApp.

8. Acceptable use

You will not use SayPiece to:

  • send spam, or anything unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, harassing or hateful;
  • pass off made-up facts, people, testimonials or results as real;
  • infringe someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
  • impersonate another person or business;
  • probe, overload or break the service, or get around its limits or its approval step;
  • copy or resell the service, or use it to build a competing one.

9. Third-party services and sources

SayPiece depends on other services (see the Privacy Policy) and cites pages published by other people. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or availability. A link to a source is not an endorsement of it, and a source we could open on one day may change or disappear.

10. Fees and refunds

Fees, what they include, and any refund are as set out when we invite you or in the order you accept, and are payable before we start unless we agree otherwise. Fees do not include taxes, which we add where required. We will give notice before changing the price of an ongoing plan.

Where we have offered a refund of a first payment, you must ask within the period stated in that offer. Otherwise fees are non-refundable, except where the law says they must be refunded.

11. Early access

SayPiece is in early access. Features will change, and some may be removed or limited. We aim to keep the service available and working but do not promise a particular level of uptime, and it may be interrupted for maintenance or by faults in the services we depend on.

12. Ending your account

You can stop using SayPiece or ask us to close your account at any time. We can suspend or close an account if you break these terms, put other clients or readers at risk, or fail to pay. On request we will give you a copy of your issues, and we will then delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as responsibility for content you approved, limits on liability, and governing law) continue after the account ends.

13. Our rights in the service

SayPiece’s software, design, name and brand belong to us. These terms give you the right to use the service while your account is open, not to own any part of it. If you give us feedback, we may use it to improve the service without owing you anything for it.

14. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises about the accuracy of anything SayPiece produces, about results of any kind (including whether a newsletter brings you readers, enquiries or work), or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

15. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost business or lost data, arising from your use of SayPiece. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the event that gave rise to the claim.

You agree to defend and compensate us against claims by others that arise from content you approve or publish, or from your breach of these terms.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Bengaluru, India, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, except where the law of your home country gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. We would rather settle a problem by talking first, so please contact us before starting any formal process.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we will tell you before it applies, and continuing to use SayPiece after that means you accept it.

18. Contact
